A Productive Rant About Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the Best item upgrade's level. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using less upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item upgrader kit will be available in the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon a reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial risk that the item may become obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.
In the final game you'll often discover that the Best item upgrade way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Utilizing Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is upgraded.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing upgrade item Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to increase the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item upgrader kit is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
