Upgrades to gear increase its base stats, and sometimes enhances its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random enhancements that are applied.

Reroll Tokens

Players can roll their equipment in three categories: physical power, magic power and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage done by weapons and melee attacks while spell power boosts mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give players additional health.

Three types of reroll tokens are available: upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each upgrade item elevates the item to a higher quality. To make them, you need a higher level reroll token. Upgrades require a common item. Rare upgrades require items that are either exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.

The marker for rerolling, unlike markers or tokens that are placed on action spaces remains on the space till the next Success is being rerolled. This helps to ensure that upgrades are not wasted.

Blueprints are envelopes which appear at the start of each preparation phase. They can be opened with Interact by grasping them. Once they're opened they show a complete description and icon of the appliance or ingredient that they correspond to. The process of upgrading can last anywhere from seconds to several minutes, based on the rarity of the item upgrader Mod.

Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can be put into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is in use. They can be bought through vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced by new ones, but doing so could destroy the previous upgrade, excluding for glyphs that can be replaced and removed at any time.

Requirements

If you choose an upgrade component that you want to put into an item the game will display an in-game window that lists the necessary requirements. The game will display the requirements required when you select an upgrade items component to slot into an item.

Once you've satisfied the requirements for upgrading, the game will place the item in your inventory, and the progress bar will change to show how close you are to completing it. You can also track the status of an item upgrade by visiting any NPC that upgrades items.
