There are some exceptions, however. the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods.
Glyphs

The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the product you are creating it for.
The majority of upgrade components installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you do not want to use, but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
You can remove any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed within which it is placed however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered a loss.
