Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to cut down on the frequency of manual hoovering. Pick a robot vacuum with good navigation, can clean stairs and corners, and that has an enormous bin that will need to be emptying every so often.

There are models that mop and charge themselves This is an advantage important for families with pets or children. A majority of the top performers in our tests have great obstacle avoidance.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ a good option for those who want an automated cleaning, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin as it gets full.

Both robots are good in removing dirt and dust particles on hard floors and carpets and can navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. Then it continues cleaning where it began. The battery's life span is approximately an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and comes with the most recent features. It is self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot through the app or via voice.

In our tests the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our top choice which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room and sweep a specific space. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of cordless vacs that are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model is an automobile. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, but it also fits perfectly next to the coffee table or a bookshelf where you can wave it around like the magic device.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system removes allergens, and then releases clean air back into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to suck up large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task at hand. It quickly converts from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum, and then back to floor.

The model also comes with an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments as well as the clip for a wand. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.

The V10's biggest drawback is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is a standard battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. This is enough time to sweep a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second run is usually sufficient). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It was able to pick up all kinds of debris in our tests, and frequently went over the same area several times to give an extensive clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges quicker.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and can perform better on low-pile and bare floors.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app gives you plenty of options to customize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior modification, docking frequency settings, and much more. The app is easy to learn and use as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it wasn't particularly well at avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested, and this could be a problem for some buyers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that can be accessed via the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and dustbin can be washed for quick, painless cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps keep the bin clean and maximizes suction power.

6. black friday robot vacuum deals & Decker Robot Vacuum

Contrary to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They come with a wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than the competition to keep the cleaning area clear for maximum runtime. They also include two side sweepers that can be used to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which senses if it's picking up surface litter or embedded dirt and then automatically adjusts the power level. It also comes with a smart app that lets you view the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. Plus, you can monitor the vacuum's battery status and then return it to its dock to charge by pressing a button. The app allows you to customize the LED lights on the top robot vacuum cleaner of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.

The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot should you need to. My living room rug for instance is darkly colored which could cause a problem for other robots. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as a cliff. And the ability to set up the weekly cleaning schedule is a great time-saving convenience.
