The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have tested. It can be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station and automatically empties its debris into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning the area where it left off. The battery's life span is approximately an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes three hours to fully charge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most crucial feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or via the app.
In our tests the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot vacuum cleaner on sale on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." 3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes to match the task being performed. It is able to swiftly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.
The model comes with an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also gives the ability to connect two attachments and a wand. This is a significant improvement over the older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a typical not an extraordinary time to run the battery-powered cordless vacuum. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home, but not quite long enough to get every single spot (though the second time around usually can be effective). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior on carpets with low pile.

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's a good robot vacuum option for those who don't want to invest too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our tests, and it often goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. In our testing of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested, and this could be a deal breaker for some shoppers.
