Three types of reroll tokens are available such as upgrade rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item upgrader kit to higher quality. To create them, you'll need an upgrade level token for rerolling. Upgrades require a standard item. Rare upgrades require an item that is either exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.

Unlike other special tokens and markers that are placed on Action spaces the reroll marker stays on the spot until the next successful result is to be rerolled. This allows you to not waste upgrades.

Blueprints appear in the form of envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. When the requirements are satisfied, the user can then click the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. This will raise the item's level by a specific percentage. Depending on the item's rarity, the upgrade process can take anywhere from seconds to minutes.

The upgrade process is risk-free and does not impact the longevity of the item. Upgrading an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. Some upgrade components come with additional modifiers that can increase the stats of the item upgrader mod.

For instance, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" boosts the base defense, and adds an extra 20% chance to block. In addition, the dps upgrade "Wildfire" increases damage to weapons.

Certain items benefit from upgrading not so much for their improved stats, but for the fact that it allows players to gain the most value out of a perfect roll on the item. A perfect-rolled 200/6 500 armor set piece, for instance is highly coveted by melee PvP communities and could be worth up to 20-50 times that of the unupp'd version.

If you choose an upgrade component to slot into an item the game will show an open window that displays the necessary requirements. This includes the type of item (either weapon or armor) and the tier of that item as well as the upgrade Token required, and the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.

Once you've met the required requirements for an upgrade the game will put the item in your inventory, and the progress bar will update to show how close to completing the upgrade. You can also verify the status of an upgrade by going to any item upgrader NPC.
