1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent alternative for those who want a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dust bin when it is full.
Both robots excel at cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors and they're very adept at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It could get stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it may encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the bin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes three hours to charge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot through the app or by voice.
In our tests, the i7+ was more agile and faster than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility best amazon vacuum Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then releases cleaner air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and collect large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to match the task at hand. It can quickly switch from handheld to floor vacuum robot vacuum and vice versa.
This model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also offers easy access to 2 attachments as well as a Wand. This is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its limited running time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is an average and not a remarkable time for a battery-powered cordless vac. It's still enough time to clean most of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to cover every area (though a second run-through usually does the trick). That's not to say this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of the most well-known Robot vacuum deals Black friday vacuums, the 694 is an affordable model that's a great option for those who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our tests, and often goes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges quicker.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a stronger motor, and performs better on floors with bare or low-pile.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app gives you plenty of options to customize your robotic vacuum cleaners cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior modification, docking frequency settings, and much more. The app is easy to use and understand, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. However, it didn't do particularly well in avoiding taller objects like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tried and could be a deal-breaker for some buyers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that you can access through the app, and you can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on your pets or children while you're away. The dustbin and the filter can be washed for a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with self-emptying clean stations, which helps keep the bin clean and optimizes suction power.

Black and Decker robots have been designed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. They come with a wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds twice as much debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area clean for the longest time. In addition, they have two side sweepers that clean along edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense which adjusts the power level according to whether it's cleaning up surface dirt or embedded dirt. The vacuum also has an app that allows you to view a virtual map, control functions, and set schedules. You can also check the status of the vacuum and then send it to its dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app allows you to customize the lights on top of the vacuum by using different colors, so that you can clearly see what areas it's focusing on or where it's stuck.
The app allows you to steer the robot manually when needed. My living room rug for example, has a darkly-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however was able to continue to move across the border without registering the edge. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
