Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The most effective way to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrading your items. This lets you enhance your gear without having to depend on costly trades or drops. This article will show you how to upp your items efficiently.

Upgrades in equipment can add an additional bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the items that can make your weapons and armor more effective. You can acquire them by destroying enemies, finding them in item upgrader mod spheres or buying them from karma merchants. They can also be rescued from equipment that contains them or by using an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products, upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.

Upgrade components are mostly used to upgrade an item, but they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the value of an upgradeable item upgrade or they can be used to increase the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be forged to offer additional benefits. For instance, a designed glyph will increase the chance of upgrading its target, while the boost upgrade can increase the attack or defense quality of a weapon or armor.

You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. Alternatively, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has its own experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item gains when upgraded using the component. Organic components, like, have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next level of the weapon or gear, and then change to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the multiplier of experience every item also has the maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade they can get. For example, the highest possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a set of items which all have the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at minimum once. The upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade the set piece or weapon is that it will be given a +1 increase to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its stats will increase randomly.

Upgrades can also boost the base damage of a weapon. This can be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to a higher defense level than their regular base. It is possible to increase value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they might not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.

If the item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled only once and its guarantee will be reset to zero. The same amount of power die is used to reroll an item as it is used to upgrade it. However the new item comes with different bonuses. Upgrading can be done at the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the required amount of Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each type. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased using Gold. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled a single time with the same materials and components as the first Item Upgrader Mod.

Rerolling

If a player has enough rerolling tokens, they can roll any item upgrades they've acquired during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced by a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens can be bought from the store for a small amount of in-game currency, but they cannot be refunded. The new upgraded item will have the same benefits of the previous one however, its stats will be different too.

In addition to rerolling items players can also change the identification of any equipment by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change its identification from a weapon to an armor, or vice versa. The base stats and requirements remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

The player can also upgrade the level of the item for any equipped equipment. This is accomplished by talking to an upgrader NPC and getting upgrade components. This will cost a set amount of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and the item kind. Each upgrade will add an additional 5% of damage to weapons.

Upgrading an item can make it more powerful, but it will also lower its quality. It is therefore important to find a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded to reach their potential. For instance an individual player may decide to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to discover what it could become.

Rerolling is a common practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. It is a method used by players to try to obtain the character or weapon they would not otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be costly and time-consuming to acquire and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only alternative is to spend real money or grind for a long time. For this reason, rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe that this feature was designed to give value to rare and expensive items. However, since most equipment is replaced quickly, and can only be upgraded to a certain level, you will usually replace it before it gets too old. It's not worth it to level items that have gem sockets since the value of the gem will outweigh the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

If you click on the upgrade option on an item, you will see a small window with the upgrade template for the item and the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the level of the item upgrader mod. Armor and weapons will have different costs, with the former generally being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats that can be added to an upgraded item, as well as its current ilvl.

The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated by analyzing the current ilvl of the item and the upgrade template. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will decrease the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 88%.

In addition to the base ilvl increase, the item will also be upgraded in other stats, such as critical strike damage, damage from PvE and dodge, block and parry rating. The increases are also built on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template you can determine the amount of damage or defense an item will receive after being leveled up. This is shown below the cost and upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor that are not practice equipment get these stats when they level up. The value of these additional stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon is able to command higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. Similar is the case for other armor pieces, such as tiaras and circlets.
