9 . What Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly dependent on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to how many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and is visible on all tooltips of items. It is also used to determine a gating condition when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can evaluate the item level. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's able to deal. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the item level.
The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item upgrader will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and gems in sockets increase the value of the item overall. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
This is not the only thing that affects the level of an item. The location of where the item upgrader mod dropped can also change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item are a major component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification which are then increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.
Another way to change the stats of an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items extra damage or other special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to make them unique by adding a name.
All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.
Players can upgrade an item with specific stats or reroll attaches. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within that range, unless it is an item that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to boost. Like base equipment, it must be done per item, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players a possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is thus more valuable in early game runs as opposed to later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances that increase with each item level. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.
Furthermore some items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be found in the shops or made using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.
The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%..
The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. Each item has a base success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5%.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects could be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
