As Korea enters the post-crisis era its development model appears to be changing. Those who are appalled by the huge cost of the old system are urging the need for a comprehensive program of liberalization of capital, labor, and product markets. On the other hand, people who support the old system attempt to preserve it through nationalist sentiments, as well as by exaggerating fears about possible job loss.

In the past, the anti-evolution movement in Korea was primarily focused on educating students and bringing Christ to them. In 1980 the year 1980, a four-day creation science seminar was held in Seoul during the World Evangelization Crusade. Drs. Henry Morris and Duane Gish of ICR as the featured speakers. This event was attended by a large audience of scientists, professors, and church leaders.
The event's success led to the creation of the Korea Association of Creation Research on January 31, 1980. The event was extensively covered in national newspapers including The Korea Times, Chosun Ilbo and The Korea Times.
KACR began publishing a newsletter called CREATION. In CREATION, the organization presented its own work and published articles on scientific evidence for the existence of God. It also translated film strips and slides from ICR as well as a few books on creationism which were published outside of Korea. KACR members also gave talks in universities and churches across the country.
A KACR success was observed at the KAIST University in Seoul. There, enough students were fascinated by the concept of creationism that they raised enough money and support needed to build an on-campus museum showing creationist models of fossils and other exhibits.
In addition to its public activities, KACR publishes a bimonthly news magazine called CREATION, that covers topics related to creation science. It has also sponsored a series of lectures by ICR staff. It has also established branches in local offices that give seminars and talks to schoolchildren and other community groups.
Changes in South Korea
In the latter half of the nineteenth century and the early 20th century, Korea began to adopt an increasingly Westernized lifestyle. Wang Geon, a powerful local leader who defeated Gungye in 935 and unified Goryeo, Baekje, and Silla and later joined Baekje into Goryeo peacefully as a successor. Additionally, Wang Geon introduced fundamental reforms and strengthened a centralized government system. This was the end of the Three Kingdoms Period. The Korean peninsula was then controlled by the Goryeo Dynasty. During the Three Kingdoms Period, Goguryeo Baekje Silla slowly grew into powerful states on the peninsula as well as in Manchuria.
