It's also prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of a room.
It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and works when you're at work or in school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot vacuums with mop that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. If you're willing some more volume and some additional cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task.
