World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to increase the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade item, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

When an Best item upgrade is upgraded, its base stats increase in value. This value is the total of all the upgraded perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the fact that many perks must be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.

Using the item level will allow players to compare the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a good gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it will be able to deal. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done using the level of the item.

The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory states that the item level is calculated using a formula that calculates how valuable the stats of an item really are. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual item level.

It's not the only factor that influences the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may alter its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the Best item upgrader. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times, at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to make them unique by naming them.

All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges as with other methods of rerolling.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it's a unique item or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to boost. But as with base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is thus more valuable in the initial game run as opposed to later ones, because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chances that increase with each new level of item. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5%. These items can be found in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it is not successful.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limits to how much success rates can be increased and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade item. All items have an average success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
