Item upgrades can be used to improve the stats of an item upgrade. Based on the type of upgrade it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, depending on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to the number of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

The level of an item is a commonly used measure of power, and can be found on all tooltips for items. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at lower levels. Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a good indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it is capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the level of the item.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item, including its value. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in a calculated item's ilvl that is usually very close to Blizzards actual item level.

This isn't the only thing that affects the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may alter its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an Best item upgrade are a major component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's a unique item, or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. Similar to the base equipment, this would have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly useful for early game runs, because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item. These can also be increased by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Additionally there are certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of completing the upgrade successfully, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has a base success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be obscured by them.
