Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or effect when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must choose it and click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the item upgrader's name. For example adding the suffix Glyph could transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials needed do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base type. For example, a rare or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes to choose from, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item's current level and the item upgrade slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to attain its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers will utilize a level to measure the height of the building to a known point, like an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to an extremely high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial part of the game, and it can boost the strength, damage or other attributes. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be used sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level filled.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a bonus that boosts the item upgrader mod's power by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the greater your chances of receiving the bonus of a different kind.

The game also has a number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on a unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character quicker, which enables players to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They are also useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.

There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you own a lot of armor or weapons already.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own unique functions, which can be particularly beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items to the level of the tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can improve their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
