Item Upgrading Isn t As Tough As You Think
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.
Usually items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the required material or component needed for the upgrade to take place.
There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For example adding the suffix Glyph would make a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of those items, instead of dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it will be able to receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the type of item level upgrade it is. For example, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes for it and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and in what slot it is located in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not attain its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to a new character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers may employ a level to measure the height of the building with a known location, such as the benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to a high degree of precision and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering an item's Upgrade Item components. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength and damage as well as other attributes. This can be done via the item upgrader mod menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.
Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This can be a good or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater chances of obtaining a unique bonus.
The game also comes with number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending a lot of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They could be of various sizes, have no elements, or only contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be useful in studying patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Some are worth upgrading, while others are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have a lot of armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include specific tools that are suitable for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level with their levels. For example, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen of their character. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. This will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated appearance.
