World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next Best item upgrader by a specified amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It is also used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. The average level of the item can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a sign of the item's condition and its quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the level of the item.

The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its value. It is also accessible by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets increase the item's value. This could result in an item level upgrade's ilvl which is calculated and is often very close to Blizzard's real item level.

However, this isn't the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the region the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an amount to its haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher value.

Item Stats

Item stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item to a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat in the range, unless they are an item that is unique, or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of item upgrader kit discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is more useful in the early game, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck or to boost the luck of the item up to 140.

Moreover there are certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be bought at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item if it fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. All items have a success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
