Upgrades can increase the performance of a piece of equipment and at times even add additional features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random enhancements applied.
The most powerful racial Shield Razortail, for example, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption function in PvP or add additional defenses to missile-based designs in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded perfect version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens allow you to roll a purchased item such as a weapon, armor or ring. This allows you to swap the item for a different one similar item and comes with an additional set of bonuses. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective method to upgrade equipment. However, they don't keep the same level as the original item and any resources that are wasted won't be compensated for.
Reroll tokens can be obtained by survivors via a variety of methods such as the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be located in crates and chests or purchased from the market for 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to change the attributes of the equipment for example, increasing its damage or granting it a new stat.
Players can reroll their equipment into three aspects: physical power, magic power and health. Physical power increases the damage that melee and weapons, while spell power upgrades mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with additional health.
Three types of rerolls tokens are available such as upgrade, rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to higher quality. To make them, you require a higher level token for rerolling. Upgrades require a standard item. Rare upgrades require items that are either unique or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
The marker that rerolls, unlike special tokens or markers placed on action areas, remains on the space until the next success is rerolled. This helps you avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the start of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. Once they're opened, they display a full description and the icon of the relevant appliance or ingredient. The restaurant's store will exchange blueprints for a new appliance or ingredient for a small amount.
This means that you can move blueprints between the Staple Pool (which is the default pool) and the Non-staple Pool during a game. This alters the blueprints the restaurant's shop can offer for rerolls, and those that are in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
Weapons, armor, and accessories can be upgraded in Throne and Liberty using Growth Stones. These are special stones that increase the quality of an item by increasing its stats and attributes. These items can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. They can purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a cost. Additionally, players can acquire these stones by signing daily contracts.
To upgrade their gear players must first find the item they want to upgrade and then click on the "level up" button. The menu will be displayed that shows the item's current status and what it will be after being upgraded as well as the necessary amount of Growth Stones to do so. The amount of Growth Stones required to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Typically rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, while uncommon armor requires only one green or blue Growth Stone.
After selecting the item to upgrade the player has to select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay for the cost. After the player has met the requirements, he is able to select the upgrade option and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. Based on the rarity of the Best item upgrade, the upgrade process can take anywhere from seconds to minutes.
The upgrade process also is risk-free, and does not impact the longevity of the item. The system is an excellent option for players who want to gain an advantage in battle but don't want strain their wallets. Moreover, players can transfer the experience and the progress of an upgraded item onto a new Best item upgrade by clicking the "transfer" tab.
For new players, it can be difficult to obtain Growth Stones. There are several methods to get these stones. You can complete contracts and purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants, defeat Abyssal Contracts, collect them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book or get them from reward chests during the Ancient Arena Season. In addition players can also break down the higher-level Growth Stones to create multiple lower-level ones.
Leveling
Leveling is an option that allows you to boost the power of weapons and armor. You can also upgrade trinkets as well as helms. It's done by the combination of an item with upgrades at the Upgrade Station and paying a fee of Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The process will consume upgrade materials and give the item an increased level, which gives the item an additional boost in that particular area. This process can be repeated until the highest level of an item is reached.
Items with upgraded base stats display the blue icon in their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments, can't be applied to more than one Best item upgrader at once. Each upgrade component requires the purchase of a certain amount of items as well as a certain level of equipment.

Upgrade components can be replaced by new ones, but doing so will damage the previous upgrade, except for glyphs that can be removed and replaced freely.
Requirements
Item upgrades give players the ability to boost certain attributes of armor and weapons that they currently own. The requirements for upgrading an item will differ depending on the type of item however, you'll usually require Dilithium as well as the number of Upgrade tokens.
The upgrade items can be used to make sets and weapons for added effects or a higher quality item. These upgrades can come from many sources, including crafting, buying at the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting from bosses and raids. Once an upgrade component is placed into an object, it is not able to be removed or replaced. However it is possible to swap glyphs freely.
The upgrade of an item can boost its Mark Level and/or Rarity. In addition, certain upgrade components have additional modifiers that can improve the item's stats.

Certain items are better off being upgraded not so much for their improved stats, but for the fact that it allows players to get the maximum amount of value from a perfect roll on the item. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example, is highly valued by the melee PvP communities and could be worth up to 20-50 times the non-upp’d version.
If you choose an upgrade component that you want to put into an item the game will show a pop-up window that shows the required requirements. These include the type of item upgrading (either Armor or Weapon), the level of the item as well as the Upgrade Token needed, and the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.
