Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats increase in value. The value is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). This is because of how many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet.

Using the item level will allow players to compare the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's an excellent gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it is capable of dealing with. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating the inventory of a vendor.

The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the calculation of an item's level is done. One theory says that the item level is determined by a formula that calculates how valuable an item's stats really are. Item Stats

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is more beneficial in early game runs since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances, which increase with each level of the item. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned by using the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the Best item upgrade) to grant a further +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Moreover some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The chance of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
