With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive looking models in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home based on how dirty the areas tend to be.
For larger homes it's recommended to choose one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home via the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might imagine from its price. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.
