How To Outsmart Your Boss In Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.
For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a significant possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded Best item upgrade. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.
In the final game you'll find that the Best item upgrade way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
The use of the Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades the equipment they have it is replaced by the new item. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback in that the item could be more expensive even if you don't require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to increase the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each when you upgrade an Best item upgrader, it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its original state which means that the player has to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
