However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.
It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and works while you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of minutes.

3. IRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the competition. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some additional cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should delight most.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum with mop vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that let you forget about your chores.
