World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will increase 3% of its previous damage every time it is upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate chances of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Using a Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This can be a downside in that the item level upgrade could become more expensive even if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with a level 1 base and a different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item upgrader kit definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to the value of the base item. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
