WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the Item level upgrade level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which will show a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via a variety of means which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if the items are from a different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones are reached.

Crests

Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It's Best item upgrader to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
