Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended.
