If you've ever thought of buy a robot vacuum now is the time to get one. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. The most significant innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. This uses AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, so that you can tell the robot to stay clear of it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills easily, leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.
Its design is also an improvement over the rest with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base automatic hoover robot Dirt disposal System also self-empties, which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests, we found that the j7+ swiftly took away dirt, dust, and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one place instead of scattering it all over the floor. It even was able to catch small gravel and sand that other robots aren't able to do. It did all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.
Although it's not as efficient as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs The j7+ is still an excellent choice for those who need mopping and a automatic vacuum cleaner in their home. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic bot cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates and it's sometimes difficult to know whether they're working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best robot vacuum for the money option is probably hybrid. These robots come with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also come with a variety of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock makes some of our most loved robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an ideal option for homes with a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a place where most robot vacuums of lower quality aren't able to meet. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few misses in corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. With the app you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place it is done with relative ease. It features a large LCD screen, which is useful when setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This feature isn't required for most people but it can help easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and features are among the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.
The base station is attractive and is hidden when it's not in use, and the size is relatively compact. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes many tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can store dirty and clean water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovac that I've used that has done an excellent job of removing the dust from floors with no. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's not able navigate stairs as well as some competitors, and it doesn't have a dock that allows the user to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone seeking a great all-round robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price price.
But if you want to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this machine, there are plenty of other great choices on the market, including a lot of eufy models priced substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides a similar in-app experience with more features like stairs, a fully-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company has a proven track record of making robot vacuums that strike a good balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at a reasonable price. It's simple to set up, simply snap on one of the side brushes, turn it on and connect the charging dock. The app takes you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. It is recommended to keep the dock near a power outlet and plenty of room for it to move around, however.
The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to fit under most couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. Its design is less ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The primary characteristic that sets the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to create an image of the unmovable items in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.
The sleek G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring expenses, charges faster and offers similar battery life. It also offers superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as often and it's less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
