It's also the only robotic automatic vacuum cleaner/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. If you're willing with a little more noise and some additional cost this is a capable two-in-one that should delight most.

It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot application is designed to guide you through a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance.
