World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. This value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is due to the number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.

It is also used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement while waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

The level of an item can help players compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a sign of the damage and its quality. Comparing items from a vendor's stock is possible using the item's level.

On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item level upgrade, as well as its value. It is also accessible by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the item level is calculated by an equation that determines how valuable an item's stats really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is usually close to the actual Blizzard level of the item.

This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big part of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon, and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The stat modifications of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items additional damage or special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to make them unique by naming them.

At present, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and other items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's an exclusive item or a God roll from a boss of a raid.

This is another aspect that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly useful in early game runs because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.

Moreover some items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item upgrader kit if the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations on the extent to which the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade item. Every Best item upgrade has an initial success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
