Buzzwords De-Buzzed: 10 Different Ways To Say Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with higher variance due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader kit upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher Item Level Upgrade level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which will show an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an Best item upgrader has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.
Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a particular item upgrader mod level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less even when they are part of a different gear set.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It is Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
