The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. The most significant advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to determine if they are working until you see them in action.

If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the best option is probably one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. The downside is that they can be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock makes some of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it lacks some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like wall legs and table legs and walls, which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few missing in corners and on walls.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products, can be controlled by only a few buttons on your device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map, or change the labeling of rooms.

It's a tiny base station that looks great and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling point is how it automates numerous tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.
Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that do an excellent job of collecting debris from plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It can't climb stairs as well as some competitors, either and doesn't come with a dock that allows you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.
Although it doesn't provide as many in terms of cleaning-related options in its app or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price cost.
If you're looking to cut costs or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive, but offers more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

Eufy is an Anker company that has a history of producing robot cleaning machine vacuums that offer the perfect balance of performance, features, and price.
