The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, so that you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills easily leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't would like. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it by speaking to it.

Its design is also a step above the competition, with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robotic than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System self-empties, which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.

In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place, rather than scattering it around the automatic floor Vacuum. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots can't do this. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to know whether the update actually working until you've seen it in the action.

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are among the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.

It's a small base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it automates many tasks, functions, and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive, too. It's the only robovac I've used that has done a good job picking up debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who want a robot vacuum that does it all.

If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. A lot of eufy models are significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive, but offers more features, such as stairs and a fully-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors carpets with low pile and even high-pile ones.

It comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't require more emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30, however is less expensive and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and it has less trouble with bulky material like cereal.
