When rerolling, an item can be exchanged for the version that is level 1 of the same item, but with additional bonuses and a new type of equipment (such as knives, cups watches, books, or cups). Rerolling an item can raise its ilvl in certain instances. However the item won't keep its current level and rerolling is only useful if the item has rare affixes.

Rerolling an object resets its base power including all upgrades and substats. This can be useful if the power of an upgraded item is less than what you want, or if the player would like to have different substats on an existing ring. The reroll token can be obtained from various sources, including the skulled creatures, the mystery box or as a reward for killing an opponent.
