A Guide To Item Upgrade From Start To Finish
Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can sometimes increase the power of a piece of gear and, sometimes, even add extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the number of random augmentations applied.
For instance, the premium racial shield Razortail is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorb function in PvP, or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradable than the perfect non-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens let you roll a purchased item such as an armor, weapon or ring. The item is swapped for another similar item with a different set of extra bonuses. Reroll tokens are an economical method of upgrading equipment. However, they do not retain the same level as the original item, and any wasted resources aren't refunded.
The survivors can acquire reroll tokens via a variety of methods such as the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be located in crates and chests, or purchased from the market at a cost of 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute of an item that could include increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.
Players can roll equipment with three categories: physical power, spell power and health. Physical power increases the damage caused by melee and weapons, while spell power improves rings and mage attacks. Health upgrades give players additional health.
Three types of reroll tokens are available in three categories: upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each upgrade elevates the item to higher quality. To produce them, you need a higher level token for rerolling. Upgrades require a common item. Rare upgrades require an item upgrader mod that is either exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
In contrast to other special tokens and markers that are placed on Action spaces, the reroll marker remains in the space until the next success result is repeated. This lets you not waste upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase and are opened by grabbing them with Interact. Once they are open, they display a full description and the icon of the corresponding Appliance or Ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged for a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's store for a small amount of money.
This means that blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool (which is the default pool) and the Non-staple Pool during a run. This changes the kind of blueprints that a restaurant's shop offers to reroll and which are available in the non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve armor, weapons and other items. These are special stones which increase the value of an item by improving its stats or characteristics. Players can locate these items by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the major towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell them for a price. These stones can also be purchased by players who have completed daily contracts.
To upgrade gear to upgrade gear, players must first locate the item, then click the "level up button". The menu will appear showing the item's current level and what it will be after being leveled up, along with the required amount of Growth Stones to accomplish this. The amount of Growth Stones required to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue), rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor requires only one Growth Stone.
After deciding on the item to upgrade the player has to select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay the cost. When the requirements have been fulfilled, the player may select the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. This will raise the item's level by a specific percentage. The upgrade process can take between a few seconds and minutes, based on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process is also safe and doesn't impact the durability of the item. This makes it an ideal way for players to gain a significant advantage in combat without putting stress on their bank account. Clicking on the "transfer tab", players can also transfer the experience and progression of an upgraded item onto an entirely new piece of equipment.
The process of acquiring Growth Stones in Throne and Liberty can be a challenge for players who are new to the game. However, there are numerous ways to obtain them, including completing contracts and purchasing them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, collecting them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or obtaining them from the reward chests that are available during the Ancient Arena season. Players can also break down the higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.
Leveling
Leveling is an option that lets players increase the base stats of weapons armor, helms and trinkets. The Upgrade Station lets you combine an item with upgrade materials and also pay a cost in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The process will use up the upgrade materials and give the item a higher level, granting the item a boost in that particular area. This process can be repeated until the highest level for an item has been reached.
Items with upgraded stats will have an icon of blue next to their slot. In contrast to enchantments, upgrade components do not stack against each other, and can only be added to a single item at one time. Additionally, each upgrade component will require a specific quantity of items to be added in addition to a minimum amount for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can choose to add an item that they wish to upgrade. On the right side, previews show what the gear will look like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow when is a player has enough resources will start the upgrading process.
A piece of equipment may be upgraded up to five times. Each time it is upgraded, the base stats of an item will be increased by an amount of. The maximum level of an item is 19.
Once an item reaches its maximum capacity that it can no longer have the option to upgrade. Likewise, once an item reaches an upgrade track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track will be discounted.
Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can be inserted into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased through vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, however doing so will damage the previous upgrade, except for glyphs which can be removed and replaced freely.
Requirements
Item upgrades give players the ability to increase certain attributes of armor and weapons that they currently own. The requirements for upgrading an item will vary based on the item type however, generally you'll require Dilithium and a variety of Upgrade Tokens (various options available).
Item upgrade item components can be used to make set pieces and weapons for added effects or a higher item upgrades level. These upgrades can be obtained from a variety of sources within the game, including crafting, bought at the Trading Post or karma vendors or looted from bosses or raids, or retrieved from dungeons. Once an upgrade component is inserted into an object, it isn't able to be removed or replaced. However, glyphs can be swapped freely.
Upgrading an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. In addition, some upgrade components have additional modifiers that can enhance the stats of the item.
The helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" for example, increases base defense and adds an additional 20 percent chance to block. The DPS "Wildfire" however increases damage to weapons.
Upgrades can be beneficial to some items, but not because they increase stats. They are more valuable for the players when they get the perfect roll. For instance, a flawlessly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x the non-upp'd version.
When you choose an upgrade component to be inserted into an item, the game will display a pop-up window that shows the required requirements. These include the item type (either weapon or armor) and the tier of the item, the Upgrade Token needed, and the amount of progress required to complete the upgrade.
If you've fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade the game will put the item in your inventory, and the progress bar will change to show how close you are to completing it. You can also check the status of an upgrade by visiting any NPC who upgrades items.
