World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats improve in value. The value is the sum of all its leveled up benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, dependent on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to how many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

The level of an item can help players compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a sign of the damage and quality. The level of the item can be used to compare items when looking at the inventory of a vendor.

The item level upgrade level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the item's value. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

It's not the only factor that influences the value of an item. The level of the area where the item dropped can also change its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The item's stats can make or break an item for players. The game uses them in various ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. A white or grey item for instance, can only be upgraded once, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by adding a name.

Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat within that range unless they are an Best item upgrader that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the chances of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is thus more beneficial in the initial game run than later ones since most players prefer more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. It is also possible to be increased by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant a further +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that deals damage by five percent. These items can be purchased at the store or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are costly and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of completing the upgrade successfully, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.

The success of an item can be affected by the Luck of that item. All items have an initial success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases that chance by five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader [find out here now] CORE client config.
