A Step-By-Step Guide To Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade items gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show the item level upgrade [click this over here now]'s next upgrade level when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and an issue.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item upgrading level will cost less. This is true even if those items are from another set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for gear of a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade items paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrades upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
Using these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them wisely. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
