WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrader mod used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item level upgrade (telegra.ph noted) from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an item upgrades's preview when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrades upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require several methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, that will be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
