Upgrades can boost the stats of a piece of gear and sometimes even its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the number of random augmentations used.
For instance, the top shield of racial violence Razortail is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorb capability in PvP, or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradable than the perfect non-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens permit you to buy a new item upgrades, such as a weapon, armor or ring. This allows you to swap the item for a different one similar item, with an additional set of bonuses. Players can roll equipment with three categories: physical power, spell power, and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage that melee and weapons while spell power improves mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with an additional amount of health.
Three types of rerolls tokens are available in three categories: upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each upgrade elevates an item to a better quality and requires a higher-quality reroll token order to make it. Upgrades that are enhanced require a standard item, while rare upgrades require a special or a legendary item, and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
In contrast to other special tokens and markers that are placed on Action spaces, the reroll marker remains in the space until the next Success result is repeated. This allows you to avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. To upgrade gear to upgrade gear, players must first locate the item and then click the "level up button". This will display a list of the item's level, and what it will become after being upgraded. It will also show the amount of Growth Stones required to do so. The number of Growth Stones needed to upgrade a piece depends on its rarity. Rare (blue), rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires a single Growth Stone.

Upgrade components are a form of equipment that can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to provide an additional bonus or effect when the equipment is being used.
