1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture leg. They also come with carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and an automatic vacuum and mop robot bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot vacuum cleaner uk hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on different rooms and floors with various flooring types including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was superb and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's boxy units This robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and look better. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some additional cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should delight most.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features to help you forget about your chores. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on how dirty those areas tend to be.
If you have a larger home, it's worth selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Finally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot autonomous vacuum to continue where it left off is great for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to create an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app also grants access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like adorable eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we have tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
