Success Rate

An Upgrade Pity is an item upgrade you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of an upgrade succeeding by some percentage. It is similar to the "luck bonus" that some items provide however it is more solid. It can be added to any weapon or armor and is able to be used up to three times.
You can also add other materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. The materials are displayed in a separate window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is displayed directly above the + button.
Another way to increase the chances of an upgrade achieving success is by using an item known as the Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is useful when your piece of equipment or weapon is near or has reached the top level of its level. This item allows you to upgrade the equipment to the next tier without the risk of it breaking.
