The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.
Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you need to change the mopping pad to a dry one in minutes.

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes This mop and robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum best that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they tend to be.
If you have a larger home, you should consider choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be useful if you own a large furniture. Additionally a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
