top rated robot vacuum Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum bot will keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency you need to manually vacuum. Choose a robot vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, has the ability to clean stairs and corners, and that has large bins that needs to be cleaned out every now and then.

There are models that mop and charge themselves, which is a feature that is essential for families with pets or children. Many of the top performers in our tests also have good obstacle avoidance.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a good option for those looking for a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin as it gets full.

Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets, and they can easily navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested. It can be stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dust bin and filter clear so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low it goes back to its docking station, automatically empties its trash into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning where it began. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of constant use. It takes about three hours to charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying that removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.

We were also impressed with the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of vacuums with cords that are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model is an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that can provide power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then releases fresh air into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets, and then pick up large particles or fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to suit the task. It is able to quickly change from handheld to floor vacuum and vice versa.

This model also has docks that charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments as well as the clip for a wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's main drawback is its short running time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a home that's average size but not long enough to cover every area (though a second run-through usually does the trick). However, this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is superior on carpets with a low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a robot. It was able to pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area many times to give a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows to get into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice feature.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top selections and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs and has more advanced automation capabilities and is able to better navigate its own. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not surprising, then, that they are also among the top 5 robot vacuum manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app provides plenty of options to personalize your robotic vacuum cleaner on sale cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior customization, docking frequency settings, and much more. The app is simple to learn and use as are other Samsung devices.

In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. However, it wasn't particularly well at avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested, and this could be a deal breaker for some shoppers.

The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's area of cleaning. This feature allows you to check in on your children or pets while you are away. The filter and the dust bin are washable to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with self-emptying clean stations, which helps keep the robot's bin clear and optimizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for hard flooring. They have an extra wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This allows them to keep the area clean for longer. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers that clean up around edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level according to whether it's cleaning up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. The vacuum also has an app that allows users to see the virtual map, manage functions, and set schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and then send it to the dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app lets you alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.

The app also makes it easy to steer the robot floor cleaner manually if needed. For example my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that tends to trip up some of the other robots I've tested. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. And the ability to program weekly cleaning schedules is a fantastic time-saving feature.
