Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to provide a bonus or extra effect when the equipment is utilized. They can be bought from players or vendors, scavenged or gotten as rewards, or constructed using crafting materials. In addition to offering bonus points Upgrade items also have cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can include inscriptions, enhancements and infusions. They are generally not available for general use and can only be applied to ascended equipment or some non-ascended weapons from the Factions campaign. You can recover infusions and inscriptions from equipment by using an Infusion Extractor Device or by salvaging using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Phoenix Boxes unlike other upgrade items are able to be exchanged and reused while still attached to an item they are upgrading. These upgrade items can be used to improve the quality of armor and weapon, without spending Dilithium. They can double the chances that the item will be upgraded to a top quality upgrade.
An upgrade component placed within an item can be replaced with a different one but it is not able to replace the original (except for upgrades of ascended equipment and legendaries). Only upgraded items that have an identification level of 0 or greater can have upgrade components added to them. When you upgrade an existing weapon equipped with a prefix or suffix upgrade will display the name of the new item as it appears in game (for instance, adding an Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be named Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player can only own three upgrade items at a time.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be an excellent addition to any item. They provide unique advantages and boosts. Some glyphs can also increase the number of affixes on an item level upgrade, thereby increasing the overall power of the item. These glyphs are available through dungeons, and some be found in certain World Tier 3 areas. It's important to keep in mind that glyphs are not available on a character who hasn't created a root dungeon of the same depth.
In order to use a Glyph, you must first create it using components and connect them using anchors. Then the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths within the same layer. If you don't want to create the glyph using components, you can use an array of anchors and paths. Drag an element in the direction of a component highlighted to snap it into its place.
Certain glyphs require certain conditions to fulfill, for example having 25 Dexterity or more in a particular area on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs require a certain number of Primary Stat Nodes to be activated, which can also be difficult to achieve. Certain glyphs have a radius that grows with each level.
Glyphs can be found on a wide variety of items, and are added to all weapons except for weapons belonging to specific classes. Some of these glyphs have conditions for instance, having a certain amount of dexterity or attack damage in a specific area on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph boosts the chance of preventing enemy attacks by five percent. It also has an opportunity to render the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
Certain glyphs can also be used on limited use tools, such as the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. Adding these glyphs will be counted towards the Combat Mechanic achievement.
The most commonly used glyphs are the attack glyphs, which boost the ATK substats of Artifacts with a flat value. These glyphs are especially useful for classes that rely on weapons that are ranged, like Warriors or Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph, which makes enemies who strike the Hero vulnerable to damage.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used for rerolling a result rolled during an Action. They are removed when the reroll occurs. Reroll tokens are available in a variety of ways, like raids and dungeons or through participation in skirmishes. They can also be purchased in the store or from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons and trials, because they allow players to reroll the rewards of the final chest.
The values for recycling points are provided for items at level 1. The upgrade gauge will increase by a certain number of points each time you recycle an item upgrader kit. This number will increase depending on the item level upgrade's value and rarity. The upgraded item will also not keep its level when it is rerolled, and the cost for recycling an upgraded item increases as its level increases.
Alternatively, a player can use reroll tokens to reroll an upgrade item however, this won't bring the item back to its original state or provide its original extra stats. This is a great option for those who wish to reroll a piece of equipment they don't like but still want to keep in their collection.
Three different types of upgrade coins are available in the game: reroll, randomly generated, and upgrade. Each type comes with a variety of subtypes. Reroll tokens, for instance come in three types: rare, legendary, and enhanced. Each requires an item upgrades from the appropriate level to create the new item with the same quality.
To make use of rerolling tokens choose "Reroll Token" by right-clicking the Satanic or Angelic items in your inventory. Then, choose a type of token. The available tokens are item upgrader mod Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns and Focus. Using an Item token will result in a new Item of any kind. Utilizing the Weapon or Misc token will create an entirely new weapon belonging to the same faction.
There is also the possibility that the item will be upgraded to a different item with a higher level and the same extra stats. This could occur if the item has been placed in the Non-Droppable Pool or was transferred there as part of a franchise card.
