Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide To Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
item upgrader kit upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of extra damage or more AD or even more affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to modernized Common or Magic gear because of their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the stats of the item that they're attached to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of games and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components inside them, with a professional or higher salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be heavier.
There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are that are available in the game and they all have different effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an additional amount of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade that an item will receive, as shown below.
Some of the upgrades are also magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is indicated by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees in order to be used. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either updated daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method of upgrading armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the environment and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant increases in stats and are worth the investment.
The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to the maximum upgrade level can boost its defense. However, it will also decrease the speed and agility of the piece. This is why it is not recommended to upgrade armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the defensive boost gained is typically not worth the additional weight and power costs of the upgrades required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain weapons come with special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).
The majority of upgrades for weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be gained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain number of monsters and bosses.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price of a certain number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars are required to complete it. The cost of upgrading will be lower if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. Before you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain amount of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to an increased quality. You could do this until you reached the maximum upgrade level for the weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. It is better to purchase gear that has low upgrade levels and high base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a better chance of giving you the most prestigious tier of benefits and blessings.
To increase their level quicker, players usually be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. In addition to these players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to increase their power and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to enhance its effectiveness when paired with biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost a stat or provide secondary effects on weapons and armor. They can be made through a process called jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gemstone and several reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gem has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or by finding Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The Jeweler can enhance the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the tier the jewel is in when it's slotted into weapons, jewelry, or gear.
The Jeweler can craft the highest levels of gems with the exception of rare and legendary ones, which require an appropriate level to obtain. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped by a different jewel of the same kind without damaging the original one. However you can only swap out one jewel in a piece of equipment once.
It is typical to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. Apart from improving performance, the jewels also create a surface that is harder than metal, so repeated friction from pivots won't damage them as easily.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the look of your weapons and shields. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped out at any time, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis cannot be exchanged and can only be recovered through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets are pieces of equipment that bestow an array of tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. You can find them in the starting area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained through vendors and after completing road interaction. They can also be made by jewelers, and found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinkets that a player is able to unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but useful bonus in speed of movement and evasion. Then, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in a similar way to how a player obtains weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any device. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective while inactive and may also help make up for a lack of a strong team or any slots in the talent tree that normally are filled with the hero's ideal stats.
A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrade-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the Item upgrade item (Yogicentral.Science) that is being upgraded. This is especially true if you are looking to upgrade multiple statistics on an item upgrading. It is Best item upgrade to upgrade just one crucial stat instead of two subpar ones.
In the beginning of the game, players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one in the middle and top players will usually opt for the pink or green ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have a major impact on the hero's ability to control his map.
Aside from the items mentioned above, players can also discover a variety of other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. These can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
