It's therefore prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.
Like other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would expect from its price tag. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map.
