There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It can even clean the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models this robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be.
For larger houses it's recommended to choose a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean a specific area of your home via the app or voice controls. A stairway mode is useful if you have a large furniture. Additionally a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuums with mop automatic vacuum cleaner and mop take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to create the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
