WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item Level upgrade used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with an button, which will show an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item upgrades and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade items coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and some new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
