World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of its leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be altered to upgrade an item.

The level of an item upgrade is a widely used measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips for items. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear, since PvP is limited at a lower level. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can look at the level of an item. It's an excellent gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it will be able to deal. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating the inventory of a seller.

The level of the item upgrader can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full item description, including its value. It can also be located by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories on how the item level calculation is made. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated using an equation that determines the value of an item's stats really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is typically close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl because the level of the region the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big part of what determines the value of an item upgrader mod for players. The game makes use of them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded once however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items extra damage, special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to make them unique by adding a name.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges as with other methods of rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat in the range, unless they are an exclusive item upgrader or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another aspect that could be changed by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. Like base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of those properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability, which increases with each level of the item and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn with the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be found in the shop or crafted by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade item failing cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
