Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide Towards Item Upgrades
Path of Exile item level upgrade upgrades (https://pattern-wiki.win/)
Item upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.
Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They increase the stats of whatever item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components within them by using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it should be heavier.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Some upgrades give armor a greater amount of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item will receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade as illustrated in the table below.
Some upgrades also feature magic or a hybrid of technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require charges to use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are constantly updated or never expire depending on the upgrade item.
Iron Ore is the cheapest way to improve your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give a significant increases in stats and are worth the cost.
The process of upgrading an armor piece to its maximum upgrade level will significantly boost its defense however, the user must be aware that increasing its weight can drastically decrease its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The defensive boost gained generally isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of specific aspects of the weapon. For example an upgrade can improve the damage that is caused by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of a rifle sniper. Certain firearms also have enhancements that enhance their intrinsic qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).
The majority of weapon upgrades require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These are obtained through either completing Side Quests, killing a certain number of monsters or bosses, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars you will need to complete the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your equipment and weapon sets changed a little. Before, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain amount of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher level of rarity. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would be reset.
This is still possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off visiting stores and buying equipment that has low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a greater chance of granting you the most prestigious tier of benefits and blessings.
The majority of players will prioritize upgrades to the weapons they most often use to make sure they are able to level up faster. In addition to these players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their squadmates to increase their power as well. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will enhance its effectiveness when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are used in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. They can be made through a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and various chemicals at a table. The higher the quality of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and occasionally by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The Jeweler can enhance the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel it will give different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, gear and jewelry.
All levels of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain the privilege of having them. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without destroying the original. However you can only swap out the jewels in an item of equipment only once.
It is common to use more gems for aesthetic reasons. In addition to enhancing performance, the diamonds create an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so the repeated friction from pivots won't cause harm as easily.
In addition to the above upgrades, the player can also get glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be exchanged, however they're not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as traits or aegis can't be exchanged, and can only be found by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets can be used to give your character many small, but beneficial, benefits. They can be obtained in the areas of starting as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through doing road interactions. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinket players can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but useful bonus in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player will then be able to acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with a slot for an upgrade which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with certain types of trinkets.
These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't fighting. This enables the hero to be more effective when not active and may also help make up for a lack of a solid team or any slots from the talent tree that normally are filled with the hero's ideal stats.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrade-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, as it's often better to upgrade just one crucial stat than two subpar ones.
Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players however, will choose a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's ability to control his map.
In addition to the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets in the form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, finishing a chapter’s main quest or defeating the boss. These can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
