1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum cleaner top 10 vacuum to date. Its most significant breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first robot to automatically send you a picture of the object it comes across so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo j7+ is also the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum in areas you don’t wish to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.
Its design is also a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robotic than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place, instead of scattering it on the floor. It even could take small gravel and sand that other robots can't. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and can't clean the stairs, it's an option for those who want both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to know whether the update is working until you've seen it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best robot floor cleaner option is probably a hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model. While it doesn't have some of the premium features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeable gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs and walls, which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality do not excel in. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb as well, with only a few missing in corners and along walls.
The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop Cleaning Robot Price, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map or re-label rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place emptying the bin can be accomplished easily. It comes with a huge LCD screen that is very useful when setting up schedules and changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for most people but it can help you keep the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot with ease.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is one of the top robot vacuum in the market however, it's costly.
The base station looks nice and is easily hidden when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The main reason to buy the station is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot charged and clean.
And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tried that does an excellent job of collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs. This means it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a dock that can create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.
Although it doesn't have as many in terms of cleaning-related options in its app or as many shortcuts within the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price price.
If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are many other options available. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers a similar in-app experience with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning on hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at a reasonable price. It's easy to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located close to an outlet that has enough space to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise, which means it can be tucked away under sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, sporting a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The most important feature that makes the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable objects in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. If it requires a recharge, it returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it began.
The elegant G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has the same battery life and performs better on unfinished carpet or floors with low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is, on the other hand is less expensive and a lot simpler to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be empty as often and it's less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
