Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives an increase in linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle six items at a time to get a gauge of each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through a number of means such as using upgrade components as well as upgrading an Item upgrader kit's mark levels or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to boost their stats.

Upgradeable items are available in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the primary method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. Most equipment has slots for upgrading, and many require a certain amount of upgrade item. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others provide general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen showing the expected stats after the upgrade, along with any required components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as blocked if you don't have enough of or.

The number of upgrade components needed for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can lower the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a seller or trading them with other players.

The majority of weapons can be upgraded by adding a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia, and others can be improved by adding the suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item, adding an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor vigor. The only exceptions are the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods in any way.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They animate in order to draw the attention of the viewer and spark curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in conveying a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph has a set of values that it could increase a stat's value, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This isn't the exact amount at which the glyph will increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the product you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

You can take out the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item within which it is placed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards, so this should not be considered a loss.

Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you take it down. You can also place a glyph on your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is helpful for players who suffer many hits from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes of weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, such as mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an unspecified affix, which is typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good way to reroll weapon stats, which can be upgraded to increase damage or other perks.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its level gauge. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.

In addition to reroll tokens players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

A reroll is a good option for upgrading an item, however, players must be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls needed to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective with Diadems and rings that do not have any other options for raising ilvls.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to allow players to pay for it with money or food items, which will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest too much time. The developers do not plan to implement paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to include a race change potion in the future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade, which increases the value of upgrading a given stat. The second is to increase the upgrade effect, which increases the healing or damage of a given stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded Best item upgrade.

It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is based on the glyphs. However, there are times where a higher or more special roll could occur. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a specific item type, it is likely to receiving a higher level.

The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the iLevel it's built upon as well as the number of upgrade items levels. Certain upgrade item tracks require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're lucky, your upgraded item will reach the highest level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.

Based on the item's base level and upgrade route, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change too. For example the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an exceptional item will be able to be upgraded to the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
