Origins

Evolution in Korea

The Korean peninsula has been inhabited since Neolithic times. The earliest evidence of human settlements is visible in the form of graves lined with stone, with precious goods such as amazonite jewellery being buried with the dead. Megalithic structures, referred to as dolmens, made of enormous single stones, are also prevalent throughout the country.

In the first second half of the 1st millennium BCE, Gojoseon established itself as the first recognizable political state. As Korea is entering the post-crisis phase its development model appears to be changing. The people who are affronted by the immense cost of the old system would prefer an extensive program of liberalization of capital as well as labor markets. KACR began publishing a monthly newsletter called CREATION, in which it covered its activities and published articles about the scientific evidence supporting creationism. It also translated film strips and slides from ICR as well as a few books on the subject of creationism, which were already published outside of Korea. KACR members gave lectures at universities and churches throughout the country.

A KACR success was observed at the KAIST University in Seoul. Students at KAIST in Seoul were keen on the concept of creationism that they raised money and secured support to build a small creationist museum on campus.

In addition to its public activities, KACR publishes a bimonthly news magazine called CREATION, that covers topics related to creation science, and it has sponsored a series of lectures by ICR staff. It has also created a network of local branch offices that offer talks and seminars to children and other community groups.

In the latter half of the nineteenth century and into the early twentieth century, Korea began to adopt an increasingly Westernized lifestyle.
